Catalyst 2030 Chapters
The vision for our Regional and Country Chapters is that by working together at a local level, the collective action of all chapters will result in the advancement of Social Innovation.
A local chapter of Catalyst 2030 is a group of members based in the same geographical area (region, country or subregion) that convenes as a community. Local chapters create an enabling space for social impact actors to flourish and contribute towards advancing the SDGs in their local context. It is a space which fosters strong human connections among members and collaborations that strengthen initiatives based on the group priorities.

Set up
Initial conversation with Catalyst 2030 (C2030) members
In this initial conversation, C2030 members, who are interested in advocating at the chapter level, have an introductory conversation with the Secretariat to discuss the creation of the chapter and any issues that may arise.
Ideation
Open discussion with all the existing members in the location
Using C2030’s directory of members within a country/region, members begin an introductory conversation about why a C2030 chapter is needed; and plan the next steps for the chapter. In this session they might also start the discussion around the state of the SDGs in the country/region and determine which goals most urgently need attention. The initial objectives of the chapter will be defined by the members and partners of a country or region.
Scoping
Mapping exercise of key allies, potential members and existing C2030 members in the location
The Secretariat supports C2030 members who are interested in creating a chapter by starting a mapping exercise of key allies and potential members in the country/region. This mapping exercise will include C2030 members, respected local social enterprises, influential social innovators and notable communities and events linked to social innovations and enterprises. The map is then provided to the C2030 members to append and edit as necessary.
Implementation
Definition and agreement on the chapter objectives and actions and the creation of a work plan
Based on initial discussions and issues defined in the first meetings of the chapter, members organise an ideation session to validate its objectives with the full group. Together a work plan is created with specific activities to develop.
Growth/ scale
Inclusion of potential new members
Members define strategies to engage key players in the local initiative in order to recruit potential new members to the chapter. For example, they can organise an informative session about C2030 and the chapter for potential members within the country or region.
Influence
Attracting key stakeholders
Chapter members can Influence key stakeholders in the ecosystem of the local chapter, through including them in the execution of the chapter activities from the co-created action plan.
