Environmental Literacy Action Collab
Liberians receive very little environmental education. Thus environmental pollution is everywhere – widespread waste in urban areas, burning of waste and other substances in public spaces, greenhouse gas emissions, rampant deforestation, open defecation, land degradation, destruction of ecosystems and biodiversity loss. The Environmental Literacy Action Collab proposes the planning and rollout of an extensive environmental education program. Using a train-the-trainer model a comprehensive rollout plan targeting 7,300 people in 15 counties will educate and enlighten Liberians on critical environmental challenges with an aim to change behaviors. It will then cascade to local populations.
