The Ceasefire Support Group (CFSG)
The Ceasefire Support Group (CFSG) came together in March 2024 as an initiative by the India chapter of Catalyst 2030 to support the UN resolution for immediate ceasefire in Gaza in March 2024. It now has 91 members from about 20 countries. A Collective Statement, drafted by the CFSG, accepted and approved by NAISE (India) Executive Group, was further supported by other country chapters of Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Mauritania and the Regional chapter of MENA. This group had several rounds of discussion with the Governing Council, and the concerned statement is still being worked on and needs to be updated. The group held special sessions at the Change Week on the theme of decolonisation and the gendered impact of colonial violence. A special Member Consultation was called on June 6 with a follow up on June 27. This has resulted in a three-pronged collaboration with three co chairs - Ashna Ashesh, Amel Lakhdari, and Sehjo Singh. Collab 1 “One of the simplest paths to deep change is for the less powerful to speak as much as they listen, and for the more powerful to listen as much as they speak” - Gloria Steinem . "Listening and Learning" is a Catalyst 2030 collaboration under the Ceasefire Support Group. It invites all those who are keen towards magnifying the voice of the Palestinians and other communities affected by colonial violence in order to:
1. Creating a safe space for dialogue
2. Gathering experience and evidence to inform solutions guided by communities affected by colonial violence
3. Creating awareness and cultivating empathy Collab 2 "Solutions and Resourcing" is a Catalyst 2030 collaboration under the aegis of the Ceasefire Support Group. It invites all those who are keen towards action that can make a difference in one of the most impossibly inhuman situations we find ourselves in Palestine and other colonised communities. This group seeks to harness the power of collective action to support communities affected by settler-colonialism violence across the globe. This group is inspired by these communities across the globe. Its focus is to work with affected communities and be guided by them to:
1. Design and implement strategic relief interventions in Palestine and future-proofing relief mechanisms for resilience
2. Make the anti-genocide efforts such as divestments and consumer movements more specific and action oriented
3. Collate best practices of relief, resistance and resilience from decolonisation struggles across the globe. Collab 3 "Song of Humanity '' is a Catalyst 2030 collaboration under the Ceasefire Support Group . It invites all those who can dream the impossible to join a team that believes in accomplishing the impossible - to connect the world in a common dream to love and cherish all its children, join and be inspired!! Song of humanity is an audacious attempt to get celebrities to express our collective anguish about bombs falling on children while we go about our daily lives.
It has a strong message of hope that we have the capacity to stop this, as all children on this earth deserve to live without fear, hunger and disease in the arms of their living families imbibing their proud history and culture.
