The Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs
The Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs works globally across all areas to help social entrepreneurs prepare for eldership. The council aims to change the system of social enterprise, where founders get stuck in the organisations they created long ago and their boards are unable to create effective change. Without competent social enterprises, social entrepreneurs will find it much harder to contribute to the SDGs. Over the course of its life the organisation has proved its worth, both as an independent entity as well as a Collaboration of Catalyst 2030. The basic premise of highlighting and supporting social entrepreneurs / founders in need of advice around succession and transition has been welcomed by the ecosystem as our members and audiences have enthusiastically engaged in these discussions. We are pleased that the organisation has created a field of endeavour in Eldership and Social Entrepreneurship and from this many other opportunities have sprung including partnership and further leadership in the larger field of New Longevity. The growth to almost 300 members and the responses we have received during in-person workshops at conferences demonstrate that the organisation is in demand, that our webinars are appreciated, and the learning which goes on, both within webinars and externally, is valued.
