Each and every one of the 17 SDGs interact with disasters as either cause, effect, mitigation or all of these together. Disaster situations provide an acute lens on the wider sustainability picture.
This CCW session will provide a chance for social entrepreneurs to appreciate, through live examples, their potential role in disaster management: Readiness (mitigation and being prepared) Response and Recovery. Whatever their particular social mission, SEs are on the ground and trusted by the communities in which they work. So, the questions are:
How can they engage with this complementary perspective on their work?
How can they break the grip of historic prejudice and #shiftthepower to local resources?
How can Catalyst 2030 help them to make the pivot?
The session aims to inform, educate and engage. It will be used in wider communication and education beyond the hour for CWW.
