Textile, clothing industry, and fashion are one of the most polluting industries in our world, and it also has a major role in global warming. It contributes significantly to the rise in the planet’s temperature, and according to scientific reports in this regard, the textile and clothing industry was responsible for 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions in 2020. Most of these emissions come from the raw materials used in those industries, as well as the methods of their disposal, so improving the way we produce and use textiles has a significant impact on reducing those emissions. This presentation tries to shed light on the way the world produces clothes and also fast fashion and how it is consumed.
