Essential skills unlock learning, boost academic outcomes, perseverance and self belief. They halve the likelihood of being out of work, increase earnings across a lifetime and even boost wellbeing and life satisfaction. But access to these skills isn’t fair. And where they are missed, it undermines social mobility, productivity and wellbeing. The session will explore partnering to face this challenge: introducing the Skills Builder Partnership’s Universal Framework which supports individuals to build the essential skills to succeed; with solutions from the frontline exploring how Teach a Man to Fish’s entrepreneurship education programmes in over 100 countries have used it to empower young people directly and through partnership.
