The Rainbow Experience – Thematic STEAM Education to Catalyze SDGs

‘The Rainbow Experience’ is about developing the complete mind of the child from an early age!
It can be done by providing opportunities to extend their learning beyond the four walls of the classrooms and connect to real-world contexts. In this session, we will share practical ideas and approaches to support educators, school leaders and other stakeholders in designing and implementing a Thematic STEAM program that is meaningful, relevant, future-focused, and fun-filled for elementary school children. We will explore the possibilities of integrating SDGs into the curriculum through action-oriented transformative teaching and learning practices. The program must be aligned with locally relevant Sustainable development goals by integrating sustainability topics and outcomes.
To build an effective STEAM Thematic Program, we must prioritize the collaboration and participation of community members, parents, and students with other stakeholders in education. In addition, teacher re-skilling and upskilling are needed to develop the skills, attitudes and competencies before piloting and launching the program.
