Facilitate Systems Change
Catalyst 2030 members are currently exploring how to weave together and accelerate our collective efforts. This requires designing a pragmatic course forward, while staying focused on our ambition to achieve the SDGs. We know that deep and lasting changes are needed in the systems that animate the world’s pressing problems, so we are also exploring how to work together to better intervene in systems.
What is systems change? It is both a process and an outcome, but there are many theories and approaches. Recognising that there is no one definition, the Scaling Solutions Toward Shifting Systems Initiative (led by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors) organised common characteristics into the following framework:
SHIFTING, RECONFIGURING, AND TRANSFORMING
IN ORDER TO
THROUGH INTENTIONAL PROCESS AND DESIGN, PURPOSEFUL INTERVENTIONS, AND CONSCIOUS, DELIBERATE APPROACHES SUCH AS
WITH THE OUTCOME OF CREATING, ENDURING, AND POSITIVELY AFFECTING
We’re still in our planning and development phase, while pursuing a few early opportunities that have emerged from within the movement. The Catalyst 2030 website is a work-in-progress and will be regularly updated.
