Sustainable Development Goal targeted

SDG 4 Quality Education

Learning One to One Foundation is based in the USA and provides professional development for teachers, education leaders and parents in schools worldwide. It has developed an efficient learning framework that can be used by any school.

Social entrepreneurs are known for finding solutions for society’s problems. What is the problem that you are addressing, and what is your solution?

Of the schools we work with, 99% are based in underserved communities, and often lack efficient learning frameworks. In response to this need, Learning One to One Foundation developed a learning framework that any teacher, student or parent can understand and put to work.

We solve four issues:

  • Simplicity: The six-step framework is simple for anyone, of any age, with any credentials, to learn. We cater for PhD teachers as well as rural-school teachers with little to no credentials.
  • Efficiency:The framework must produce results regardless of available resources. Schools have reported an average of a 40% increase in reading-comprehension per year, close to zero dropout rates and students completing a full grade in seven months, with 100% of the required curriculum covered. This can be compared to an average of 67% in traditional schools.
  • Affordability: The framework must be affordable to any school in the world. It requires only low-cost professional development for teachers.
  • Scalability: The framework works in rural or urban schools, brick-and-mortar or virtual schools, with or without technology and specific textbooks. It works for all required curriculums and assessments and all socio-economic backgrounds. It meets current education policies and works anywhere in the world.

Relational learning incorporates the complexities of competency-based learning, personalised learning, socio-emotional learning and project-based learning in a simple six-step framework. This is done without changing the curriculum, required tests, textbooks or teachers.
