Social entrepreneurs are known for finding solutions for society’s problems. What is the problem that you are addressing, and what is your solution?

There is a need for tools and frameworks to create projects that can be measured in terms of their impact, so that they can be replicated in the future. There is also a need to effectively communicate their impact.

#Meet4Impact is a non-profit organisation that aims to change the way we plan, measure and talk about the events industry. We aim to educate associations about the difference between legacies and impact. Legacy is what you create and leave behind, such as programmes or knowledge, while impact is the change created among people who benefit from legacies. Business often defines impact as being only economic but it is also positive change.

#Meet4Impact works with partners, including destinations and associations, to create pilot projects that develop processes to capture the legacy and social impact cycle. For example, we are working on a project with Tourism New Zealand to measure the social impact of three conferences: The 2020 INTECOL International Wetlands Conference in Christchurch, the 2022 World Leisure Congress in Dunedin and the 2022 International Working Group on Women and Sport in Auckland.
