Afriwomen Connect

I am a fully accredited member of AU’s Femwise (Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation). A positive change maker recognized by Ashoka EA, provider of opportunities and information, a seasoned banker and Certified Professional Coach (ICF) & Mentor, a Gender consultant with a strong financial knowledge in entrepreneurship with focus on the emerging Women and Youth Markets across Africa. I have been involved with identifying and establishing strategic partnerships between women entrepreneurs and various for profit and non-profit organizations. This has enabled me facilitate mentorship for Youth start-ups and financial inclusion and deepening among small and medium women entrepreneurs from fund providers such as US State Government, IFC-World Bank and Goldman Sachs.A Member of Africa Women Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP), EA Business Council , Kenya Association of Women Business Owners among other business associations. A Life Member Red Cross Society of Kenya and Kenya Paraplegic Organization. A signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles. Task Force Committee Member of the Kenya National Women in Peace and Security (WPS), Amani (Peace) Women Network (AWN). An active speaker and contributor to regional and global forums such as International Womens Day, Italy Women in Business conference, Annual Africa Conference for Social Enterprises. Recognitions and Awards by GIZ, Mohamed Yunus Environmental Hub, Zuri Awards, DIAR Awards and many others. What keeps me very busy is supporting women and youth organised groups called Chamas, in building their own fund through the Table Banking Concept to enable them easily access finances. This way they achieve financial freedom and in turn are able to support themselves and their families through various economic activities, access to education, medical care and even leadership opportunities. I do this through my organisation Afriwomen Connect. We offer administration services to the collectives. We help them build their Group revolving funds by offering advisory services through capacity building. We help the groups build governance structures that enable them smoothly run their affairs. We are therefore a Community Based umbrella body serving over 20 organised groups each with an average of 15 members.. We also partner with organisations such as CorpsAfrica to train their youth volunteers who work with communities within Kenya. We train the youth on how to set up Community Based Organisations in the respective areas where they serve. Additionally I am part of an organisation where I volunteer to ensure brilliant Girls from poor families have access to the best education in high school and university I partner with organisations to offer mentorship and coaching services to Women business owners. I serve on various boards including High schools, Vocational Traiing Centres, Women in Business owners, Kenya Private Sector Alliance, Social Enterprise Kenya, EM4, Africa Digna. Am also the Chair person of my rural home Municipality Board under the Kenyan Urban Areas Act
