Asante Africa Foundation(AAF)
Asante Africa Foundation (AAF) is a global alliance of 4 member organizations (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and USA). We share one name, one strategy and one mission to educate and empower the next generation of change agents, whose dreams and actions transform the future for Africa and the world. For 15 years, we’ve led and sustained coordinated action to harness the talent and potential of East Africa's adolescent and young people (ages 10-24) in extremely rural Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Rooted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Goals #4,#5 and #8), AAF achieves results through a set of interlinked programs designed to alleviate poverty by fostering the development of educated and resilient youth. Our programs emphasize: quality learning in the classroom, gender equity, work-life skills, and the power of technology. Youth develop the cognitive skills, decision-making capacity and leadership qualities needed to succeed far beyond the academic environment.
As of 2021, we have transformed over 843,000 lives, with 93% youth transitioning from primary to secondary school, 77% qualified to enter advanced educational paths, 93% in jobs matching their skills and 98% paying it forward locally. Throughout the pandemic, our youth created innovative solutions to feed, protect and revitalize their communities. These young leaders are pioneering the way forward to create a better future in a post-pandemic era for themselves, Africa and the world.
