Bokitas Foundation
Bokitas works in the child health ecosystem. We provide food, pediatrican care, nutritional follow up, deworming, psychological care, practices to purify water, parents and care giver training to make the impact of Bokitas last. We open a Monitoring Nutritional Center (MNC) in the local church providing the resources and training the staff in child nutrition. The medical team raises the data of the nutrition condition of the kids and sets the baseline of each kid. The team visits the MNC every six month to see the children progress. The model is Scalable: allows to attend a greater number of children in an organized way and with the ability to measure impact Efficiency: The model conforms interdisciplinary teams and mobilizes them to where the target population lives. This makes possible to centralize the escarce human resources available in Venezuela. Increased Social Impact: The model focuses in the target population and stablishes the baselines. Quarterly we make comparisons to ensure that the expected changes occur. All the skills. The communities are left with all the skills to detect and prevent malnutrition and also they have health care services very near them. We are changing the parents and care givers mindsets and promote collaboration across a diverse set of actors.
