Carbon Impact Capital (CIC)
CIC is a Singapore-based for-profit social enterprise focused on taking climate action and creating social impact at scale. CIC’s audacious goal is to "Transform a Billion Lives" directly and immediately by developing and operating projects at the intersection of climate action, social impact, and capital efficiency. CIC’s projects provide clean cooking, clean water, clean home energy, soil carbon, and nature-based solutions. CIC's projects are registered with global carbon registries, like Gold Standard and Verra, that independently verify and quantify the impact of their projects and issue carbon credits. CIC brings its technology platform, access to new and emerging technologies, the know-how of carbon markets, and financing and works with a network of non-profits and social enterprises, thereby contributing to the development of the whole ecosystem involved in climate action and social impact. CIC leads with carbon projects but targets holistic development of communities, thereby addressing several of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Typically, the projects address poverty alleviation, water, health, gender equality, children, restoration of nature, and employment. CIC's primary focus is on developing countries in Asia, and selectively in sub-Saharan Africa.
