Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD)

Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD) started in 2013 as a student campaign to promote peace and sustainable development across Nigeria and was registered in Nigeria in 2018 and United Nations Volunteer in 2020. MISSION To build a young generation that will foster peace, and social justice, prevent violent conflict, promote gender equality and sustainable development across Africa VISION CEPASD envisions a world where there is peace and tranquility devoid of violence and conflict anchored advancing in peacebuilding and youth development CEPASD take a holistic approach in advancing sustainable development, peacebuilding, youth development, leadership, gender, social justice, and education while building the capacity and resilience of youths to become transformational leaders, and change-makers in their communities toward achieving sustainable development. CEPASD also is amplifying youth voices for sustainable development while engaging stakeholders and key actors on violent conflict and gender-based violence prevention as well as leading advocacy efforts for the implementation of UNSCR 2250, 2535, and the African Continental Framework on Youth, Peace, and Security. Since its operation in 2018, we have strategically carried out various intervention projects and programs impacting 5,000 people and reaching about 10,000 people across Africa both directly and indirectly. CEPASD has initiated several programs and projects which include Youth and Peacebuilding Dialogue Series, Youth Model African Union, Youth Voices Against Electoral Violence, Nigeria Youth Aspiration Convergence, Nigeria Youth Summit Global Youth Movement against Gender-Based Violence, Mentor Her to Greatness African Youth Dialogue on Sustainable Development Goals, International Peace Dialogue, African Youth Peace Summit, Global Youth Engagement Summit, Global Engagement Model United Nations, South-South Model United Nations, Arewa Model United Nations Resilient Youth Fellowship and carried out five weeks awareness project on Gender-based Violence in two secondary schools in Abuja to raise awareness on GBV in schools etc. in 2023. CEPASD trained fifty (50) from the 36 states in Nigeria on Electoral Violence Prevention also CEPASD built over 500 skills of African youth on advocacy, violent conflict and gender-based violence prevention, peacebuilding, leadership and community development. We have also mentored more than 200 young women across Africa to become a better version of themselves and changemakers through our Mentor Her To Greatness Program. CEPASD has partnered with national and international organizations and a member of GPPAC, ANCSSC and NNNGO.
