COMMUNITY ACTION FOR HEALTH & DEVELOPMENT (CAHED)

CAHED Kenya is Kenyan CBO founded in Homa Bay to do service above self. We aspire to support all communities regardless of gender, sexual orientation, culture, religion and socio-economic background, have the right to grow up in secure environment without discrimination. We create rights awareness, mobilize and raise resources to help support people’s rights and well-being; ensuring every person has the opportunity to reach their development and potential for social accountability and corruption free society. We have activities and programs that protect children from violence, exploitation and abuse and protection their rights. We create awareness and practices in the best interest of children and women to contribute to their well-being and rights in Kenya and more particular in Homa Bay County. We expand the power of the people to make government decisions and uphold peoples’ rights, and pursue their dreams through inclusive and responsive activities. CAHED works to create a safe, nurturing on early childhood development and its environment. CAHED programs aims to inspire multiple sectors – including health, nutrition, education, labour, finance, menstrual health management, sanitation, and social and child protection. CAHED has run different activities since its foundation in Homa Bay supporting the achievements of SDGs with grassroots transformations that brings together a shared vision of community to stimulate development agenda for community empowerment, education and sustainable development. We collaborate with government to adopting and expanding knowledge for improved equitable democracy programs and glow collective power of our beneficiaries through people power as well as advocation and supporting participatory democracy.
