Devatop Centre for Africa Development
Devatop Centre for Africa Development is a human rights civic-tech non-profit organization based in Abuja, Nigeria, dedicated to combating human trafficking, gender-based violence, and other human rights abuses in Africa. Founded with a vision to foster an African society where the rights of people are respected and promoted, DEVATOP has been at the forefront of human rights advocacy since its inception. The organization’s mission is to work alongside local, national, and global partners to uphold human rights and social justice across the continent. One of DEVATOP’s most notable initiatives is the TALKAM Human Rights App(www.talkam.app), a tech-driven project designed to increase the reporting of human trafficking and other human rights abuses. TALKAM, which means “to speak up” in Pidgin English, comprises a reporting app, case management platform, online course, social networking, media, and supporters forum is available for download and use in Africa.
TALKAM has become a household name, encouraging citizens to report abuses and empowering them to take action.
Through the TALKAM initiative, Devatop has successfully sensitized millions of citizens on human rights issues, fostering a culture of vigilance and advocacy.
