Development & Relief Initiative – Uganda (DRI-Ug)
Development and Relief Initiative – Uganda (DRI-Ug) is a registered not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) in Uganda (Reg. No.2712-File No. MIA/NB/2012/11/1886) that works directly, and in collaboration with vulnerable populations and diverse organizations/government of Uganda to build healthy, empowered, and developed communities. Our Vision is for Communities that are socially, and economically emancipated to take charge of their own destiny in development, our mission is working with vulnerable rights holders and other development agencies to bring social, and economic development. Our core values include Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Subsidiarity, and equal opportunities. DRI strives to address a diversity of issues within the context of 4 thematic areas Disaster risk reduction, Humanitarian action in emergencies, Improved Health of marginalized groups, and Livelihoods. DRI-Uganda’s program interventions are implemented by an entirely indigenous staff, guided by evidence-based strategies developed alongside targeted stakeholders/communities themselves, and focused on the sustainable utilization and leveraging of local resources and expertise
