EqualReach
EqualReach is an impact sourcing platform that connects vetted teams of refugee/displaced talent with dignified digital work. Think of a fair-trade version of a freelancing marketplace, but with a team and project-based model that funnels livelihood opportunities to some of the world’s most marginalized communities via web or mobile-based digital work. As a female-founded social enterprise, EqualReach is enabling upskilled talent to access paid digital projects that exist in nearly every organization but aren't accessible for most refugees. We empower businesses to source impactfully to teams at every skill level and give forcibly displaced people access to life-changing, non-exploitative livelihood creation opportunities. For example, when an enterprise team has a data labeling project or a European SMB wants to build an app and hire a team to develop the tech—EqualReach is the bridge connecting them to a trusted network of global refugee-led service provider teams. We target teams made of 50-70% of displaced talent, 30-50% of talent from host communities, and 50% women within the first 12 months to incentivize inclusivity. We operate on both the supply and demand side of job creation by identifying, vetting, and onboarding teams with specialized digital skills around the world and then facilitating the project matching, contracts, and payments to link them with paid remote work with projects from businesses. This provides an immediate income, reduces reliance on aid, and bolsters regional economies, while creating a pipeline for diverse talent to enter the private sector.
