Fundación Soymás

Fundación Soymás is a Chilean non-profit organization that promotes the social and economic inclusion of young mothers living in vulnerable conditions, particularly in communities such as La Pintana, Renca, Maipú, and Antofagasta. Its model tackles poverty at its roots —childhood trauma, educational exclusion, and lack of job opportunities— through a comprehensive intervention that combines psychosocial support, technical training, and employability assistance. The foundation works with women between the ages of 15 and 29, most of whom are adolescent mothers facing multidimensional poverty, violence, and educational dropout. Nearly 60% have experienced four or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), revealing high levels of trauma and vulnerability. Soymás’ approach is holistic and evidence-based: it offers workshops on personal development and parenting, training in administration or trades, educational leveling, and ongoing psychological support. This comprehensive accompaniment not only transforms the lives of participating mothers but also positively impacts their children, helping to break intergenerational cycles of poverty and social exclusion.
