HACEY Health Initiative (HACEY)
Founded 16 years ago, HACEY is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, economic inclusion, and rights of vulnerable populations across Nigeria, with a particular focus on women and girls. Our work spans over 16 states, covering all six geo-political zones in the country, promoting the integration of health, economic inclusion, and rights approaches for the benefit of our beneficiaries. 1. HEALTH: We are committed to enhancing the well-being of communities through various health interventions, including: a. Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A): We strive to improve the health and well-being of mothers, newborns, children, and adolescents by implementing targeted interventions. Our efforts also encompass HIV, Malaria, and Family Planning initiatives to address critical health challenges. b. Health Security: HACEY actively supports national and sub-national efforts aimed at accelerating the impact of interventions focused on strengthening surveillance, laboratory capacities, and the healthcare workforce. Our work centres on health emergencies prevention, preparedness, and response to safeguard public health. c. Digital Health: We leverage technology tools to support health workers and institutions to accelerate the impact of health interventions in Nigeria. 2. ECONOMIC INCLUSION: Our work under the Economic Inclusion theme is anchored in the FEED acronym, representing Financial inclusion, Economic empowerment, Education, and Digital skills for vulnerable individuals, particularly women and girls. Through these interventions, we aim to enable marginalized communities to access economic opportunities, build financial independence, and acquire vital skills for personal and economic growth. 3. RIGHTS: We are dedicated to championing the rights of women and girls. Our efforts are directed towards: 1. Empowering Women in Leadership: We advocate for women's access to leadership positions both in the public and private sectors, promoting gender equality and inclusivity in decision-making processes. 2. Combating Harmful Practices: HACEY actively engages communities to prevent and respond to harmful practices perpetrated against women, including rape, female genital mutilation, and child marriage. Through education and awareness campaigns, we strive to eradicate these practices and protect the rights of women and girls.
