Her Story Nigeria
Her Story Nigeria is a non-governmental organization committed to advancing gender equality across Africa through storytelling, advocacy, and community engagement. We believe in the power of amplifying the voices of women and girls, fostering a society where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to thrive. By breaking down stereotypes and challenging harmful norms, Her Story Nigeria creates a more inclusive society through its network of changemakers dedicated to gender equality. Oreoluwa Ojo, the Founder and Executive Director of Her Story, has been instrumental in driving the organization's mission. Under her leadership, Her Story has grown to over 1,000 members across 5 African countries, with the goal of reaching 10,000 members by 2030. Oreoluwa has led over 50 virtual community dialogues and 8 impactful women’s rights campaigns across 5 Nigerian states, advocating for gender equality and creating safe spaces for women to express their thoughts on issues such as gender-based violence and women's rights. Her Story’s initiatives, including book clubs, movie clubs, writing groups, and podcasts, provide creative platforms for women to share their experiences and challenge societal norms. With a focus on community-driven change, Oreoluwa's leadership continues to empower women and inspire action towards a more equitable future for all.
