Independent (Brandon Dzekashu Maimo)

My name is Maimo Brandon, and I'm not just the CEO & Founder of Maimo Foundation and ILAF (Integrated Livestock and Agricultural Farm) – I'm a passionate changemaker, ignited in 2019 by a simple birthday outreach in Douala. Witnessing the harsh reality of countless vulnerable women and children ignited a fire within me – I knew handouts weren't enough. They needed sustainable solutions, a chance to build their own futures. Thus, Maimo Foundation was born. Over 700 families stand stronger today thanks to our income-generating skills training. From food processing to tailoring and recycling, we equip them with tools to thrive. But we don't stop there. We fund their businesses, offer mentorship, and ensure their children's education through "Operation No Child Left Behind," growing our volunteer community from 3 to 110 members. My vision extends beyond individual families. ILAF empowers communities through agricultural knowledge. We unlock sorghum's potential, transforming it into flour, syrups, and animal feed. We train in livestock agriculture and fish/pork/chicken processing, maximizing income and creating a sustainable food system. By 2024, we'll be at the forefront of converting sorghum to energy, a groundbreaking step towards a brighter future. But impact isn't just about numbers. Miss Ewi Eveline's story exemplifies it. A single mother of four, living in a single room with no hope for her children's education, Maimo Foundation not only sent her kids to school but empowered her to build a thriving business. Today, she proudly sponsors all four children, and her son Dylan became one of the top five pupils in his first year back after six years at home. This is just one of countless lives we've touched, and it fuels my passion. My aspirations reach far beyond borders. I dream of an online learning platform, accessible via smartphone, bringing quality education to every corner of the world. From adult literacy to sustainable agriculture training, this platform will empower individuals and communities to break free from the cycle of poverty. Catalyst 2030 represents a beacon of hope, a platform to connect with like-minded leaders, share knowledge, and learn from diverse experiences. Together, we can build a future where every child, every family, has the chance to thrive and transform their own destiny. Joining this incredible community would be an immense privilege, an opportunity to amplify our impact and build a brighter tomorrow, one empowered community at a time.
