Independent (Brirkellia del Carmen Alvarez Franquiz)
I am Brirkellia Álvarez, a lawyer, certified yoga teacher and Venezuelan social entrepreneur dedicated to designing accessible and regenerative models of emotional wellbeing. I integrate law, psychology and therapeutic movement to create mental health solutions that respond to contexts of vulnerability and high caregiving demand. My trajectory brings together ten years of experience in mind–body practices and community facilitation, along with ongoing training in psychology, stress physiology and integrative therapeutic support for women. In 2020, I founded Todos en Yoga, an integrative community health initiative that combines accessible yoga, psychoeducation and emotional support to reframe wellbeing as a right rather than a privilege. My mission is rooted in a profound question: who cares for the caregivers? Since then, I have dedicated my work to strengthening the resilience of women caregivers and older adults in vulnerable communities in Caracas, Venezuela, weaving together psychosomatic practices and social transformation processes. My vision is to build a regenerative wellbeing ecosystem that places human dignity, emotional health and the justice of care at the center of community development. I believe wellbeing should not be a luxury, but a collective experience that restores, connects and empowers people to recognize themselves as agents of change. Guided by this conviction, I have created programs such as Yoga en Comunidad, Respiro Calma, Pausa Serena and Somos Uno, as well as a global digital platform for Venezuelan migrant women. The purpose of my work is to drive systemic change across three dimensions: Community emotional health: expanding access to practical tools for managing stress, anxiety and exhaustion through yoga therapy, positive psychology and B Present, my psychosomatic relaxation methodology developed from years of experience and study. Economy of care: elevating and strengthening the role of women caregivers as social wellbeing pillars by integrating sponsorship models and solidarity funds that connect companies, the Venezuelan diaspora and local communities. Social innovation: designing a replicable, sustainable and measurable model capable of scaling wellbeing solutions throughout Venezuela and Latin America, aligned with B-Corp frameworks, regenerative community health and strategies for reducing inequality. I am inspired by supporting people in recovering presence, rest and purpose—especially in environments marked by chronic stress and vulnerability. My commitment is to continue developing community-centered wellbeing solutions that strengthen resilience, expand access to emotional health and contribute to more humane, equitable and conscious futures across the region.
