Independent (Fatoumata Marong)

What we do at CAPED is focusing more on building climate resilient community. We work directly with women farmers, Fisher men and farmers in general. We do this by restoring mangroves in all the five regions of the Gambia. We do community sensitization on different levels, and offer women entrepreneurship training especially, rice farmers and oyster farmers, also on climate smart agriculture. We advocate on laws that affect communities directly due to climate change. We have been restoring wetlands and rice fields since 2009, so far , we have planted 5 million mangrove propagules in the Gambia.
