The Peace Project-Sierra Leone The Peace Project-Sierra Leone is an open organization that was founded on the 28 November, 2017. The mission of the founders was for the organization to serve as a peace broker before, during and after the controversial March 2018 Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council elections period. The following underlined the activities of TPP-SL: Community Engagement in respect to maintaining peace in society, Target political parties to ensure that their membership activities do not contravene the political parties’ codes of conduct, preach against tribalism and regionalism, preach against election violence and violence against women, children, persons with disability(PWDs) and other minority groups, Political and civic education, Information sharing, monitoring and reporting of violence incidences in the district. Membership shall be opened to the general public within the age bracket of 18-above years of age and not limited to tribe, sex, religion, marital status, physical status and upon applying and timely payment of dues as stated in section. Violence Monitors(VMs) and Peace Monitors(PMs) Violence Monitors shall be responsible for monitoring and reporting incidents in the district to the organization for the effective analysis and sharing of information with partner organizations, the Security Apparatus and other relevant authorities for proper action. Monitors are recruited from around the surrounding towns and villages in the district and they shall comprise of five (5) males and five (5) females Peace Ambassadors shall be responsible for preaching peace message to the people especially those in the hard to reach areas. The main targets of the Peace Ambassadors are Political Parties and the Youth Population who are tools for violence activities. Peace Ambassadors are recruited from around the surrounding towns and villages in the district and they shall comprise of five (5) males and five (5) females.
