EcoBana Ltd
I am Lennox Omondi, an entrepreneur, innovator, and social champion dedicated to creating a sustainable future for all. As the Founder and CEO of EcoBana Ltd, I am leading the charge in ending period poverty across Africa by manufacturing biodegradable sanitary towels using banana fibers. My passion for sustainable development and social impact was ignited during my Mass Communication studies, where I became acutely aware of the challenges facing vulnerable communities in Africa. This led me to establish EcoBana, a company that focuses on creating sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions to address the challenges of menstrual hygiene management and sanitation. Through EcoBana, I am committed to creating a lasting impact in my community by empowering women and girls to access affordable and eco-friendly sanitary products, while also promoting sustainable production practices that protect the environment. My dedication to social impact has not gone unnoticed, and I have been recognized globally for my work, including winning the 2022 Hult Prize Global Award 1 Million Dollar Prize which was awarded by the 42nd President Of The United States Of America Bill Clinton at the Clinton Global Initiative additionally my company has received National Recognition from the 5th President Of Kenya H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto , being named among the Top 30 under 30 Young CEOs Africa, and being awarded the UN Volunteer of the Year (VOYA Awards) in 2022. As an Enactus Alumni and a Kectil Fellow, I am passionate about mentorship and inspiring young people to become change agents in their communities. I have also been recognized for my leadership qualities, including being awarded the Student of the Year 2022 award by the Dean of Students at St. Paul's University and Excellence Award 2022 awarded by St Paul's University Chancellor. I am determined to create a better world, and I believe that through EcoBana, I can make a lasting impact and inspire future generations to follow in my footsteps.
