Independent (Mercy Oguche)
I am a dynamic and impact-driven International Development Professional with over 8 years of experience delivering high-impact projects across health, child protection, Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), youth development and counter-trafficking in Nigeria and across Africa. With a track record of leading multi-country, multi-stakeholder initiatives with cross-sectoral relevance, spanning West, East, Francophone, and Southern Africa. I am skilled in managing initiatives that require complex coordination, and I excel at building strong stakeholder relationships across government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
Currently, I am leading a continent-wide youth employment initiative for LEAP Africa in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, positively impacting over 1,000 young people across 15 African countries. I am deeply passionate about driving equity, fostering innovation, and strengthening systems to create lasting change in development. I actively support individuals and small organizations in their personal and organizational development journey.
I facilitate training sessions for youths in Nigeria and across Africa on effective community project management as agents of change.
My work requires interaction with multi-cultural stakeholder/client-facing situations, including donor engagements.
