Independent (Michael Fors)
Nominated by the UN Assistant Secretary General, I serve as Chairman of the Board for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research's Advisory Board. UNITAR provides training in peace, climate, people, prosperity and health. Specific initiatives involve entrepreneurship, leadership and empowerment (especially women and youth), trade and finance, anti-corruption, digital technology, and nuclear disarmament. I also have served as a program leader within UNITAR since 1998, providing training to the world's most vulnerable populations so they are not left behind. We focus on government officials, NGO leaders, and private sector leaders. A major focus though is women and youth. A key part of this training has been social business and social entrepreneurism, to create social businesses that solve social issues and reinvest profits. My goal is to join forces to create a social entrepreneur accelerator/incubator, that helps social entrepreneurs improve their social businesses, accelerating world progress to Sustainable Development Goals.
