ASDGA are committed to Strategic purpose: Developing a viable model for an SDG Alliance to support collaboration within and across sectors for a better future through activating the SDGS in NZ The ASDGA developing the structure, purpose, and hosting of an ongoing SDG alliance – to support a more cohesive and structured approach to achieving the SDGs in Aotearoa. In 2019, Hui E! led the development of the independent People’s Report on the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. The People’s Report encouraged the formation of an ongoing SDG Alliance with members across sectors who can: ● generate a collective voice that reflects the needs of the Aotearoa civil society under an SDG framework ● engage regularly with government on issues of our time ● monitor progress towards a more just, equal and sustainable future. The ASDGA support the People’s Report findings that there are critical areas Aoteaora New Zealand urgently needs to address. It also supports: ● government policy, consensus and strategy as to how these are to be achieved ● ownership, coordination and alignment of activities within and in-between sectors ● a coordinated approach to measuring our country’s progress and contributions through our Pou and their networks
