Independent (Ollie Bream McIntosh)

Ollie Bream McIntosh is a researcher and designer working at the intersections of systems change, public policy, and collective intelligence. He is currently a Marie Curie Fellow, undertaking an EU-funded PhD at the Brussels School of Governance on the use of platform technology and artificial intelligence in policymaking processes for urban sustainability transitions. Ollie is also Associate Researcher at Mútua Systems, where he develops insights and resources for collective intelligence design. He is currently a candidate fellow at the London School of Political Technology, where he investigates the relationship between the design of civic technologies and civil society participation in sustainability governance. His previous research has focused on the role of human networks and digital technologies in facilitating local sustainability transitions, as well as on the impact of innovations in governance and funding in cross-sector sustainability programmes. Ollie has consulted for a range of NGOs, start-ups, and research institutes, and sits as a non-executive director on the boards of two UK charities focused on local development. Ollie holds a MSc. in Sustainable Territorial Development from KU Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Padua (Italy), and a Masters in Applied Economics from the Sorbonne (France), in addition to training in Complex Systems, Strategic Foresight, Service Design, and Applied Ecology. Ollie speaks five languages and has lived and worked across the Americas, Africa, and Europe. Aside from his professional pursuits, Ollie loves dancing to jazz and electronic music, hiking in mountains, and cooking for friends.
