Independent (Philemon Hatangimana)
**Philemon Farm Enterprise** is a pioneering agricultural venture based in Rwanda, dedicated to transforming agricultural waste into valuable products using innovative technologies. We produce and sell mushroom seeds to farmers, buy back their yields, and process these into various food products such as fresh mushrooms, dried mushrooms, biscuits, bread, sambusa, and cookies. We also manufacture eco-friendly charcoal briquettes from expired mushroom seeds and other agricultural waste using Biochar technology. This zero-waste approach addresses critical issues such as malnutrition, deforestation, and climate change while creating job opportunities for the local community. **Founder and CEO: Philemon** As the Founder and CEO of Philemon Farm Enterprise, I have a profound passion for agriculture and sustainability. My journey began at the University of Rwanda, where I was studying agriculture, started this venture with just $35. But soon after Through research, innovation, and perseverance, I grew this initiative into a thriving enterprise that now employs over 20 people and supports more than 500 farmers across Rwanda. My work has been recognized with awards, including a significant prize from the Ministry of Youth in Rwanda. My commitment to sustainable practices and community development drives Philemon Farm Enterprise to continually innovate and expand, aiming to make a lasting positive impact on both the environment and society.
