Institute of Learning for a Better Tomorrow (ILFABET)
ILFABET has three strategic pillars - children, youth and research & development. Technically, the organization focuses on improving soft skills, gender equity and climate action through education. So far, the organization has successfully developed a teaching method to address gender equality issues through improving children's Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This teaching technique is well-taken by two provinces and one of them has already made a few changes in its textbooks to help teachers use this technique. Recently, the organization also conducted the first ever webinar on education for climate action, in the midst of the history's worst floods in Pakistan to prepare communities better and use education as a tool. The organization now liaising with other like minded organizations, like British Council and GIZ, to further build on this and start advocacy to take climate actions that are possible through education.
All these initiative are taken for the first time in Pakistan by ILFABET therefore, initiating innovations in the field of education.
ILFABET is the brain child of Ms. Sumbal Naveed, who is an educator a 2018 Echidna Scholar from Brookings. She founded this organization to bring a real change and transformation in education, starting from Pakistan, so that children start suing their full potential and get the education and learning that matters in their lives.
