Kenge Content Hive Organization (KCH)
I am a grassroots climate activist and the founder of Kenge Content Hive, a youth-led nonprofit based along the Lake Victoria Basin in Busia County in Kenya. I come from a fishing community that has long faced the twin challenges of poverty and environmental degradation. Witnessing firsthand how climate change is disrupting traditional livelihoods, I felt the need to act—not just with words, but with locally grounded solutions.
Through Kenge Content Hive, we work to reconnect communities with nature by integrating traditional knowledge, local storytelling, and environmental education. Our work spans from tree planting and climate literacy campaigns in local languages to policy advocacy and creative partnerships that bridge rural voices with global platforms. We believe change must begin at the grassroots, but it doesn’t end there. That’s why we embrace partnerships across sectors both locally and internationally so as to drive systems-level impact.
Our vision is a future where rural communities are not just surviving climate change, but actively shaping the solutions. Our mission is to empower young people and local communities to lead the way in environmental protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable development that is deeply rooted in their culture, knowledge, and lived experiences.
