MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND HIGHER EDUCATION, QATAR

I am Dr Abhilasha Singh Panwar, currently working with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar, on designing and developing curricula for the new STEM Education Programs. In addition, I am actively engaged with a network of innovators to develop STEM programs in India that aim to provide Education for Sustainability and prepare children for facing future challenges. We aim to create awareness and promote sustainable development through this program by weaving UN SDGs into our STEM learning modules. We expect our students to use STEM Conceptual learning and build competencies to act sustainably in complex situations. We are in the process of “TRANSFORMING EDUCATION FOR NEXT-GENERATION” through our unique learning content, pedagogy and learning environment. Systems we have been targeting: • Design a Program to interconnect disciplines that aims to build concepts and wider competencies. • Create thematic bundles, modules, and teacher toolkits to help educators teach the STEM methodology. • Enable students to apply their STEM understanding and skills by designing projects to solve real-world problems sustainably. • Organise and participate in national and international competitions, workshops, and conferences where teachers and learners can interact, explore and apply STEM in various areas. • Align our goals and outcomes with UNSDGs through community service projects. • Analyse and illustrate the impact of our program by assessing students’ achievements. • Collaborate with the global teaching community towards bringing positive changes into education. • Build professional development courses and educational resources for the teachers.
