Movement For Education And Advocacy Network Salone MEANS-SL
Movement for Education and Advocacy Network Salone is run by a network of young leaders in Sierra Leone devoted to empowering young mothers, expectants, youth and girls reach their fullest potentials. MEANS seeks to empower girls who have dropped out of school or learning centers due to pregnancies and want to return to education or find meaningful engagements in societies. The project includes family tracing, mediation, reunification, and mentoring, material and financial supports and child-care giver supports to young mothers that want to return to education or find meaningful engagements for dignified employments.
Our organization seeks to work closely with other networks and movements working with women, girls. and youth We share ideas, experiences, expertise, and the promotion of their rights and their importance to development at grassroots and national levels.
Not only advocates for the disadvantaged young mothers and girls, MEANS ensures the use of participatory techniques and approaches in their implementations and operations. MEANS seeks to build capacities of young mothers and girls to be gainfully involved in community developments through our implementation strategy. This ensures a flourishing and sustainable community development approach.
MEANS envisions that project participants are actively involved during project planning meetings and implementation; we train mentors and peer educators regarding the mission of the network as this has contribute greatly in making informed decisions regarding specific programs.
