PAMOJA AFYA INITIATIVE ( P A I )
Pamoja Afya Initiative ( PAI ) is a registered Non-political ,Non profit making, Non-Go vernmental organization under Registration Number 9022 and operation Permit Number 1401 Registered by theN ational NGO Board in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Government of Uganda. The Organisation was started in September 2024 by agroup of four professional and experienced volunteers dedicated to improve on the social welfare of people living around National parks and wild life reserves in Uganda. Pamoja Afya Initiative lies under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 that aims at good health and wellbeing with targets of reducing global maternal mortality ratios, end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age, halve numbers of global death and accidents from road traffic accidents among others. Our Major objectives are as follows below To build the capacity of youth to respond to Sexual Reproductive Health related issues i.e. HIV /AIDS prevention, Menstrual Health Management, Family planning, drug and substance abuse etc thus embracing healthy seeking behaviors. To equip the youth with Life skills Development that enable them become entrepreneurs through the application of the Logic Die Principle and have better livelihood. To equip the youth with ICT for Health skills that can help them to better their lives. To provide a networking platform for young people to interact and share adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) information To offer Volunteerism opportunities through Internship, Home stay programs and youth led exchange visits. The mission of Pamoja Afya Initiative is to be a leading organization for health promotion and service delivery in Uganda. Our Vision is to create an empowered, creative, and innovative community around the National Parks and widelife Reserve areas in Uganda. Pamoja Afya Initiative is committed to empowering communities surrounding national parks and wild life reserves through a comprehensive approach that include:- promoting access safe water through drilling wells, constructing rainwater tanks, well rehabilitation, advocating for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, mental health and emergency medical services, promoting wildlife conservation through implementing different community development projects that provide alternative livelihoods to communities surrounding national parks and wildlife reserves education and access to digital information, and strengthening community systems through governance and leadership.
