Pastoralists Integrated Concerns (PICO)
PICO is an indigenous pastoralist, youth-led and non-profit community-based organization that
operates in Kajiado County working to address issues of primary concern for the pastoralist
women, youth and children. It was registered in January 2019 by the Ministry of Public Service,
Gender, Senior Citizen Affairs and Special Programmes and is headquartered in Magadi, Kajiado
County, Kenya.
The key objectives of PICO is to provide access to quality health and education services for
pastoralist children, promote gender equality and adolescent sexual, reproductive, and health
rights, advocate for environmental-friendly practices (mitigate and adapt to climatic actions) and
promote sustainable alternative sources of livelihoods.
