Skills Outside School Foundation SOSF
The Skills Outside School Foundation (SOSF) stands as the foremost Pan-African organization in Education, Entrepreneurship, and Employability. Our impact spans over 100,000 individuals across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and seven other African nations, as well as globally. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as Incorporated Trustees, our vision is anchored in a future where human capital propels sustainable socio-economic growth. SOSF pioneers a paradigm shift in development and philanthropy through a distinctive three-pronged strategic approach and collaborative ethos, which encompasses investments and partnerships.
At our core, we are driven by a mission to deploy data-driven interventions and advocacy in education, employability, and entrepreneurship, catalyzing transformative and sustainable socio-economic development across Africa. Grounded in service, integrity, and collaboration, our model rests on three strategic pillars: Data, Interventions, and Advocacy. Through meticulous data gathering, analysis, and reporting, we shape our interventions in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our advocacy efforts are multifaceted, leveraging the voices of SOSF beneficiaries and ambassadors, mobilizing volunteers, engaging stakeholders, conducting research, mainstreaming interventions, raising awareness, and influencing policy and regulation. Our interventions, both direct and indirect, aim to empower individuals and communities. Directly, our programs like SOSF Bridge and SOSF Headstart provide vital skills development and support to youth and vulnerable entrepreneurs, respectively. Indirectly, we forge partnerships with corporations and individuals to amplify our impact, adhering to SDG 17. We facilitate Corporate Innovative Partnerships, offering strategic impact collaborations, grants, and consultancy services to integrate SDGs into corporate strategies, enhance CSR initiatives, promote employee volunteerism, and develop social impact programs. Additionally, our Individual Innovative Partnerships, such as Lead4Change and Scale Up Impact, nurture social innovators and support the execution of impactful initiatives. Having collaborated with over 150 partners and investors, including renowned organizations like UNICEF, ACT Foundation, MTN, and more, we continue to execute our mandate with unwavering commitment, driving positive change and sustainable development across Africa and beyond.
