Society for Rehabilitation of the Visually Challenged (SRVC)
As a social entrepreneur I have working with social causes over 25 years. SRVC is a registered charitable org based in Kochi, India that I am involved with since 2003 which helps with economic rehabilitation of the visually impaired (VI) community by offering training & employment viz telesales call centre since 2013 offering employment to 15 VI telesales callers (under Envision Trust), Heart2Heart VI orchestra which has played more than 500+ shows in India and abroad, Foot reflexology as a profession. The latest project is the Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF www.blindfootball.in) a national body supported by SRVC to bring to the fore talents among the VI and help get them recognized, I help coach the Indian National Blind Football Team - men & women (past 10 years) and we have around 1000 blind footballers in our database from across the country with the aim to get them scholarships, jobs etc. Blind Football is a 5 a side Paralympic Sport played with a football having bells inside, with 4 outfield players who are totally blind and a sighted goalkeeper. Also, setup a startup for the visually impaired (VI) and elderly - Sightica Innovations Pvt Ltd in 2020 where we are building 'fall detection sensor' AI / ML driven device and the Apps fully accessible to the VI community and elderly (with a VI developer in the team). The device is at the MVP stage, and this an offshoot of the IT co 'Systica Systems Pvt Ltd' (www.systica.com) I founded in 2003 where we work on full stack / accessible tech projects for clients worldwide.
