Claire Barnhoorn – Founder and CEO, Solvoz
Claire Barnhoorn is a seasoned humanitarian professional with nearly two decades of experience in aid delivery, global supply chains and digital innovation. With a career spanning Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and collaborations with NGOs and UN agencies across Europe, Asia, and Africa, Claire has dedicated her work to enable much required system change, localizing aid and action, and promoting sustainable supply chains as key strategies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Recognizing that nonprofits globally represent the 5th largest economy in the world, comprising over 10 million organizations, Claire has expanded Solvoz’s mission to serve not only aid agencies but the broader nonprofit, health and impact sector. She believes localizing supply chains, empower local actors and fostering sustainable procurement practices are critical to creating fairer, more resilient communities and achieving the SDGs. As the founder and CEO of Solvoz, Claire leads a social enterprise that provides open-access tools and innovative solutions to revolutionize procurement for impact-driven organizations. Solvoz’s recognition, including the Best Innovation Award at ImpactFest 2024, reflects its transformative approach. Claire also co-founded initiatives like the Gender-Responsive Procurement Alliance, advancing equitable and sustainable supply chains, and co-leads NCDconnect, a platform improving access to quality medication for non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries. A passionate advocate for system change, Claire frequently speaks at global forums, including the World Economic Forum, The African Logistics Conference, and the European Congress on Global Health, emphasizing the potential of global supply chains to foster equity, sustainability, and resilience. About Solvoz
Solvoz is a purpose-driven platform designed to optimize and revolutionize sourcing and procurement for NGOs, nonprofits, and healthcare providers. The platform enables organizations to create and manage product catalogs, streamline e-sourcing processes, and establish white-labeled marketplaces tailored to their needs. By connecting local suppliers with global demand, Solvoz strengthens local economies, fosters community resilience, and reduces reliance on international supply chains. Solvoz is more than a platform; it is a movement to transform how nonprofits, healthcare and impact providers (including donors) operate worldwide. Claire and her team work tirelessly to empower organizations to operate sustainably, equitably, and impactfully in a rapidly changing global landscape. Mission and Vision
Solvoz’s mission is to rebuild the global 'yellow pages'—a comprehensive, accessible database that connects demand and supply locally, regionally, and globally. With a focus on creating fair, transparent, and sustainable marketplaces, Solvoz empowers organizations to make procurement decisions that are ethical, cost-effective, and aligned with the SDGs. Solvoz envisions a world where every euro spent maximizes impact, bolsters local economies, and contributes to community resilience. By integrating digital technology, the platform helps NGOs and nonprofits save up to one-third of their procurement budgets and over 75% of process costs, enabling them to redirect resources to their missions.
