Union of Community Development Volunteers
Union of Community Development Volunteers (UCDV) a national indigenous humanitarian/ charitable organization founded in 2004 in Uganda, also with a Special Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. UCDV is known as an agency of action and a champion of hope whose mission is “To improve the lives of communities by promoting community participation and voluntarism to realize their full potentials’’. Our focus areas of intervention include;
1) Provision of clean Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in the water - stressed communities/ institutions by Protecting/ construction of natural spring wells, drilling of boreholes, installation of rain water harvesting tanks and training on good hygiene and sanitation practices.
2) Education support to the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVCs).
3) Healthcare services.
4) Managing Climate Change/ protection of the environment.
5) Creating Economic Security.
6) Providing life skills vocational training for a sustainable living especially for the unemployed population.
7) Hosting and Placement of International Volunteers.
8) Youth empowerment.
9) Empowering girls and women as well as other socioeconomic disciplines for a holistic community transformation thus, making sure that no one is left behind.
