I am a passionate advocate for transforming education in rural India, with a strong belief in the power of hands-on, activity-based learning. My work is deeply aligned with the mission of Vidyoday Muktangan Parivar Foundation (VMPF), where we are committed to revolutionizing education, particularly in secondary government high schools, through innovative STEM programs and curricula. Our approach focuses on making learning simple, engaging, and highly relevant to students' lives. At VMPF, we are redefining education by fostering a scientific mindset among students. Our core objective is to introduce a 'learning by doing' methodology that allows students to engage with scientific concepts through practical experiments and toy-making workshops. This hands-on approach not only enhances understanding but also encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through our workshops, both for students and teachers, we aim to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, ultimately shaping a generation of innovators and leaders who can drive societal progress. Currently, we are working with six Zilla Parishad schools in Shirol Block, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, with the goal of establishing a model for activity-based learning. This model will be scalable and eventually serve 160 schools in the region. Our ultimate mission is to create a sustainable educational framework that can inspire other schools to adopt similar innovative methods. In line with this vision, we are developing a comprehensive learning manual, based on our experiences, to serve as a resource for educators and organizations looking to implement hands-on, STEM-focused curricula. As we continue to expand, we actively seek collaboration with like-minded organizations that share our commitment to educational reform. By working together, we aim to extend our impact and build a network of schools that embrace activity-based learning, helping to foster the next generation of social leaders and innovators. Through our efforts, we are confident that we can contribute to the larger movement for educational change, ultimately reshaping the educational landscape across rural communities in India. At VMPF, our mission is clear: to transform rural education by creating dynamic, engaging, and impactful learning environments.
