Vision Youth Outreach
What systems are you targeting and how is your approach unique?
Having observed frequent challenging behaviors of young people in our country, Liberia and after fourteen years of civil unrest, this organization was formed to focus on Interacting with several young people between the ages of 15-35 years. There was a need to transform the minds through improving their social, moral and mental skills. In addition, this organization was birthed to create Youth Leadership Development Impact Festival, Education, Health, Counseling, Career Development, and others. Liberia is particularly disadvantaged with low literacy rate, shattered educational infrastructures and a struggling system entrenched with multiplicity of challenges. With this program, we seek to encourage education as our fundamental pillar, bringing hope to the hopeless and contributing to our country educationally. This venture is geared towards impacting young people from diverse backgrounds, both Christians and non-Christians through the acquisition of crucial secular and spiritual knowledge needed for growth and development.
In addition, we have the aim to target youths between ages 15 to 35 by; providing financial aid and scholarship to deserving youth to persuade their educational goals, conducting leadership training platforms, organizing camps and career development which has the propensity to change lives and contribute to their mental as well as social status effectively now and further enhance them to be self-relance.
Healthy life in a poor country like Liberia is challenging, with this, we find pleasure contributing to train young people by conducting health talks, health seminars, film shows, group discussions and distribution of health kits for emergency reasons in their homes.
To achieve our goals, working in collaboration with international organizations will help to promote and increase the influx of members who are wishing to join and be trained through qualified health practitioners, seasoned educators as well as willing counsellors who have numerous experiences to promote a healthy lifestyle among their peers.
The concept of volunteerism is leaking; therefore, we are also involved with mentoring them about the importance of volunteerism in service and generosity in all aspects but focuses on saving lives by practically demonstrating them at the health centers. This health program is intended to cover many sectors including Hospital visitation for expressing empathy, reaching out to the needs of the sick and donating (blood, financial and material resources).
After a traumatic civil war which caused several psychological impediments, counseling can never be overlooked. We are involved with community, street and church youth’s mentorship which is meant to create positive behavior around them. Visitation to the orphanage homes by donation, ghettoes and prisons considered highly which are carried out to enhance the awareness of teaching Jesus Christ.
With this, the organization seek to boost the SDG specifically, Health, Education, as well as literacy in our community and better living condition for all.
