Waste Bangladesh (Waste and Circular Economy Advisers)
Waste Bangladesh, located in Dhaka, is dedicated to revolutionizing solid waste management in the country. Initially established in 2015 as a social movement, we have evolved into a leading organization committed to environmental sustainability and community well-being. Our journey began with a focus on providing advisory support for the Integrated and Sustainable Waste Management approach. Recognized for our efforts, we became a registered startup in 2020 under the FINISH Mondial program, working towards sustainable sanitation solutions. Transitioning into a separate local entity in 2023, we continued our mission, earning accolades such as the Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG 2023) for our waste-to-biogas solution.
Our approach revolves around Integrated and Sustainable Waste Management (ISWM), aiming to revolutionize the sector through innovative solutions, advanced technologies, and community involvement. Our vision is a world where waste is minimized, resources are used efficiently, and a circular economy thrives. As circular economy advisers, we lead by example, advocating for and implementing circular economy principles to create a more sustainable future.
In recognition of our efforts, Waste Bangladesh received the Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG 2023) Champions Award in 2023 for our BioShikha technology. This groundbreaking solution converts rural smallholder farmers' waste into bioenergy, offering an affordable and innovative waste management solution for Bangladesh. Our Portable Biogas Plant, BioShikha, has been lauded as one of the country's top solutions, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable development.”
