Wekume

Wekume is an innovative mobile application designed to enhance the accessibility and uptake of reproductive health services among students in Uganda. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by young individuals in managing their reproductive health needs, Wekume offers a comprehensive platform with four key features tailored to empower students. 1. **Safechat**: This feature provides a confidential and supportive environment where students can engage in friendly counseling sessions with trained professionals. The platform aims to create a safe space for discussing sensitive topics related to reproductive health, offering guidance, information, and support tailored to the individual’s needs. 2. **Shop**: Wekume includes an integrated shopping feature that allows students to conveniently order a variety of reproductive health products. From contraceptives to sanitary items, this online shop ensures that students have easy access to essential products while maintaining their privacy and comfort. 3. **Circumcision**: Aimed at promoting safe practices, this feature enables students to make appointments for circumcision services. With a focus on education and health, Wekume helps users understand the benefits and procedures involved, ensuring they have access to reliable medical guidance. 4. **Quicktest**: This fast self-diagnosis tool employs AI technology to assist students in identifying potential health concerns related to reproductive health. Through a series of simple questions, users can receive preliminary insights into their health status, facilitating timely action and access to further medical support if needed. 5. **HIV Corner**: This dedicated section of the app allows students to discreetly order HIV medication and other related resources during school hours. By reducing the stigma associated with seeking these services, Wekume supports students in adhering to their health regimens and accessing necessary treatments. In addition to these core features, Wekume is committed to fostering entrepreneurship among students by establishing a Startup Hub focused on reproductive health. This initiative aims to nurture innovative ideas and business aspirations, providing the resources and mentorship necessary to turn students' career and business dreams into reality. By integrating reproductive health with entrepreneurial training, Wekume envisions empowering a generation of students who are not only informed about their health but also equipped to make significant contributions to their communities through sustainable business practices.
