Women and Child Development Society (WCDS)
Women and Child Development Society (WCDS) is a nonprofit organization established in 2001 in Tamil Nadu, India, with a mission to empower women and children through education, skill development, and rights-based initiatives. Our vision is to create inclusive communities where women and children have equal opportunities to thrive, contribute, and lead. Over the past two decades, WCDS has impacted more than 1,90,000 lives through programs focused on girl child education, women’s empowerment, livelihood generation, and healthcare access. We operate in six adopted villages in Polur Taluk, implementing sustainable solutions that address both immediate needs and long-term development goals. Recognized with the GNE Award of Excellence 2021, WCDS works collaboratively with local and global partners to break cycles of poverty and promote social equity. We believe that empowering women transforms families and communities, paving the way for a stronger, more equitable society.
