Women Do Business (WDB)
The non-profit organization Women Do Business is in operation from May 2019 until today, aiming to promote women's entrepreneurship, in the region of Crete and the rest of Greece, advancing in the whole country. Our goal is to support women who want to implement an idea as a business for the purpose of changing the limiting beliefs and stereotypes around the position of women in entrepreneurship. Counting the 3 years since we started our activities, 1798 women have benefited from their participation and 12 businesses have started with the help of Women Do Business. We have developed funding and cooperation links with the Vodafone Foundation, Hondos Center, Unilever, HIGGS, Action Finance Initiative (AFI), InterMediaKT and Coca-cola 3E, Bodossaki Foundation and Martinou Foundation. Our support relies on four pillars: Empowerment Educational Workshops (Online & Live) Mentoring Networking In July 2021, we launched a free online platform for Social Entrepreneurs entitled “Koinoniko Epixeiro”, under the auspices of the Vodafone Foundation. Through this project, we aim to inform, network and guide social entrepreneurs or anyone who seeks to become a social entrepreneur in Greece.
