Catalyst 2030 is seeking a Finance Lead (Senior level)

Overview

The Finance Lead has a sound knowledge of finances in the Dutch non-profit sector. S/he has helped steward an organisation’s finances during a period of rapid growth, developing financial systems and processes and creating a sturdy financial base for the operation. A professional with previous experience within a non-profit / INGO in an international setting, the Finance Lead is a professional whose values are aligned with the vision and mission of Catalyst 2030 and its membership.

Scope of work

As a member of the Operations and Finance Team, the Finance Lead will report to the COO. S/he is a key contributor to the financial stability and financial decision making within the organisation. In particular, the Financial Lead is responsible for consolidating the financial reporting between several fiscal sponsors in the US and Europe, budgeting, reporting to the Governing Council on a monthly basis and providing projections, forecasts and cashflow reports.

The Finance Lead is responsible for

  • Budget creation, monitoring and reporting
  • Ensuring that the financial operations – including budget projections and reports – are sound and delivered on a timely basis to the board and membership
  • Overseeing the finances and leading the financial monthly, quarterly and annual close
  • Leading and overseeing internal and external audits
  • Creating and consolidating an informal shared balance sheet that can be used across initiatives and organisations within Catalyst 2030, keeping close track of inputs and outputs
  • Ensuring compliance with all grants and contracts
  • Develop systems and reporting that inform financial performance and decision making
  • Ensure that fundraising reporting systems are well designed, efficient, and serving the needs of staff and donors at all levels
  • Following systems and processes for payments and reconciliations
  • Overseeing the finance coordinator and the bookkeeper
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business, finance, international development, non-profit management or a related field
  • 10-15 years’ experience in a senior finance role
  • Strong background in the financial management of complex international and regional programming and operations
  • Demonstrated understanding of the synergy between the programmatic, operational and financial components of development initiatives both at headquarters and field levels
  • Demonstrated experience with INGO reporting, financial management, procurement, logistics and project management and procedures, including demonstrated ability to develop and monitor budgets and collaboratively manage operational activities of complex programs, including sub-grant management.
  • Ability and willingness to work in challenging and changing environments and to overcome challenges and find solutions
    Experience creating new financial systems in a growing organisation
  • Keen analytic, organisational and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound financial decision making
    Proficiency in Exact software
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • A commitment to empowering the diverse communities served by Catalyst 2030

Salary range

4000 – 5000 Euros, gross salary per month including 8% holiday pay.

Job Location

Remote and one office day a week in Haarlem, the Netherlands
